Visa tackles trend of girls dropping out of sport
New research reveals age 15 is New Zealand’s peak age for girls dropping out of sport, a with 64% of girls saying they don’t currently have a female sports star they look up to. Visa PlayOn – an initiative by Visa and Year13 - highlights the many long-term physical, mental and community benefits, and makes role models more visible and accessible to encourage young girls to stay in sport.

“I’ve been fortunate to represent my country at under 17s and 20s World Cups as well as the Olympics in Tokyo. New Zealanders love their sport and it’s fantastic to be partnering with an organisation like Visa, who have been proud and passionate supporters of women’s sport for many years and who provide opportunities for the next generation of female football players right around the world.”
Claudia Bunge
New Zealand Footballer & National Team Defender
